Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about bridge day optimization and smart vacation planning.

What is a bridge day (Brückentag)?

A bridge day is a strategic vacation day taken between a public holiday and a weekend to create an extended break. For example, if a holiday falls on Thursday, taking Friday off gives you a 4-day weekend using just one PTO day.

How does takedays optimize my vacation days?

takedays syncs with your work calendar and analyzes public holidays in your region. Our AI identifies opportunities where 1–2 vacation days can create 4–5+ day breaks, helping you maximize your PTO allocation throughout the year.

Which countries does takedays support?

We currently support Germany (all 16 Bundesländer with state-specific holidays), Netherlands, France, Spain, United Kingdom, United States, and Canada. Each country includes national public holidays and regional variations where applicable.

How does the AI travel advisor work?

When we identify an optimal vacation window, our AI considers your budget, travel preferences, seasonality, and destination trends to suggest the best trips for that specific time period. You get personalized recommendations that match both your schedule and interests.

How much does takedays cost?

takedays is launching in 2026 with free early access for waitlist members. Pricing details will be announced before public launch. Early adopters receive special founder pricing.

Is my calendar data private and secure?

Absolutely. We use encryption in transit (TLS), Row Level Security in our database so each user only sees their own data, and never share your information with third parties. See our privacy policy for full details.

What makes takedays different from other travel planners?

takedays is the only travel planner built calendar-first. While other apps help you plan after you’ve decided when to travel, we start by finding the optimal when — analyzing your work schedule and public holidays to maximize time off. Then our AI suggests where to go.
